Lu Hansheng (1905~1994) is a well-known master of Chinese arts and crafts in China, Wuxi, Jiangsu. When he was 15 years old, he became an apprentice in the mahogany. He studied hard and gradually mastered the full set of techniques of mahogany carving. After the full division, he worshipped Wu Linkun, a famous Suzhou artist, as a master. He is an all-round carving artist who will design Suzhou mahogany furniture and make mahogany art, and the object tooth carving, boxwood carving, sandalwood carving, horn carving and engraving, printing buttons, etc., are all proficient.
This is the work produced by Chinese art and crafts master Lu Hansheng in 1962. It is one of the masterpieces of his life. The work is 30CM long, 8CM high and 16CM deep.
Arm rest is one of the items commonly used in Chinese literati and bureaucratic study. The arm rest is often engraved in the form of a half-petal bamboo ornament, which is a bamboo carving. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has gradually developed to make arm rest with precious wood.
The "double phoenix tree leaf arm rest" created by Master Lu Hansheng changed the traditional shape of the bamboo carving arm, and the flat shape, simple and refined carving technique portrayed the natural state of the two sycamore leaves stretched, quietly, as if falling The leaves on the desk. The most common leaves of the phoenix tree leaves are used by Master Lu Hansheng as the subject of creation. The performance of the double phoenix leaves is to avoid the monotony of the works, and also gives the auspicious meaning of "good things in pairs".
We carefully observed the work, in which one of the leaves of the phoenix tree leaf was slightly raised, and the other leaf of the phoenix tree was slightly sunken, and the tips of the two leaves were curled and drooped, showing that the creator considered the comfort of the arm rest. Sexuality, and the uniqueness of seeking change in simplicity; the branches of the leaves of the phoenix tree show the shape of the word "human", and the "one scorpion" and "one scorpion" extend to the tip of the leaves on both sides, and the branches of the branches on both sides The difference is that the left branch has carved the young leaves that have just been born, and Xin is growing. It can be seen that the author considers the integrity and symmetry of the work, and makes people feel sluggish and shows the diversity of change.
At the bottom of the work, the hollow carvings were taken, and the two branches of the stalks were set against the two branches of the phoenix tree, which embodied both conciseness and lightness, and fully considered the fastness of use.
After careful polishing by the painter, the work is delicately lubricated and radiant, whether it is placed on a desk or pinched in the hand will make people love. The work was collected by the Chinese Arts and Crafts Museum.
