On the other hand, packaging has also brought profits to the printing and packaging industry. So, should we love you or hate you?

There are now many voices in the society that condemn overpacking. It can be seen that over-packaging is "poisoning" people's lives. Extremely disgusting! However, there is still a market for such luxury packaging as "white jade is lined with gold," and it seems that these "royal products" do have some supporters, so that they have been banned for so long.

Overpacking does bring a lot of "trouble" to our lives.

The first one is the waste of resources. Commodity packaging materials have evolved from natural plants, ceramics, etc. into a pattern dominated by paper, plastic, glass, and metal. With the diversification of packaging materials, the world's per capita consumption of packaging materials has also increased dramatically. According to incomplete statistics, the current per capita consumption of packaging materials in the world is 145 kg/year. The average American packaging material consumption is 250 kg/year in the world, 200 kg/year in Japan, and 30 kg/year in China. However, China has a large population base, so the annual absolute consumption of packaging materials is about 30 million tons. Of the solid waste that can be comprehensively utilized in China and renewable resources that can be recycled and reused, the value that has not been recycled has reached more than 50 billion yuan. Now that there are already a number of forests that have become wrapping paper, the price of oil has recently risen steadily. Recently, the price of US crude oil futures has exceeded 80 US dollars per barrel. Excessive packaging adds to the scarcity of resources that are depleted.

Taking packaging cartons as an example, according to statistics, the average annual production of shirts is 1.2 billion pieces, and the amount of paper used in the box is 240,000 tons, which is equivalent to cutting off 1.68 million thick trees. Simply turning a 500-gram bag into a 300-gram bag would waste more than 400 million yuan in a year. In 2005, more than RMB 280 billion of packaging materials in China were used once, one-third of which was caused by over-packaging. In other words, putting an end to excessive packaging in China would mean saving more than 90 billion yuan, while the cost of a medium-sized aircraft carrier would only require 4.8 billion yuan. Nowadays, more and more commodity packaging is falling into the trap of selling or selling pearls. We must not only ask ourselves: "Is it really necessary for such packaging?"

Second: causing pollution. The pollution of the packaging to the environment is reflected in three aspects, namely the pollution of the packaging production process, the pollution caused by the packaging materials or packaging containers, and the pollution caused by the packaging waste. Specifically, some of the raw materials in the packaging industry are processed into packaging products, and some of the raw materials become pollutants discharged into the environment. For example, various waste gases, waste water, and waste residues discharged from packaging companies cannot be recycled during the production process. Environmental pollution caused by packaging materials; Some packaging materials cause pollution to content items or the environment due to changes in their chemical properties. Most of the packaging is disposable. Therefore, about 80% of a large number of packaging products become packaging waste. Therefore, packaging waste is environmentally friendly. The pollution caused is obvious, and overpacking makes this pollution even worse. Excessive packaging from the collection, manufacturing, and waste into the environment is a complete destruction.

Of the 200 million tons of domestic garbage produced in China each year, about 40 million tons are packaging waste. Of which, nearly 3 million tons of garbage are produced each year in Beijing, and 600,000 tons are over-packaged waste. If unnecessary over-packaging is reduced, this alone can save 200 million yuan. The waste of resources caused by excessive packaging of moon cakes is even more alarming. Guangzhou's environmental sanitation department handled more than 6 million moon cake boxes this year. Apart from being partially recycled as waste, about 70% of the moon cake boxes were eventually disposed of as household waste. There are more than 3 million moon cake boxes thrown out in Hainan each year, and the amount of scrap iron, waste wood, and backing paper produced in this category is as much as 700 tons. The raw materials for the packaging industry are relatively precious and precious, such as paper, rubber, glass, steel, plastics, etc. If a large number of these resources are used for over-packaging purposes and are consumed at one time, without corresponding recycling, great waste will result. .

Third: to eliminate corruption in disguised ways. "Luxury packaging" is a "spiritual pollution" to people's thinking. "The more exquisitely packaged, the more valuable the gift." This one-sided pursuit of luxury packaging is easy to grow people's vanity and face phenomenon. Some rich people use this to show their own worth and "a sense of glory", but also will lead to social inequality and the gap between the rich and the poor. It will lead people to pursue luxury and blindly compare their achievements. "Luxury packaging" will also breed social corruption. "If you don't use it, don't buy it." The higher the price, the higher the grade of the gift, and the bribe-payer is “pleased” and the person who receives the bribe is “satisfied”. In this way, luxury packaging puts a "legal and reasonable" coat on the hands of corrupt elements. The wind of corruption spread rapidly under the luxury packaging.
