Packaging Design and Color (2)

The color design of the product packaging

The use of packaging colors must understand the love and taboos of color in some countries and nations. The proper use of packaging colors, packaging can make people have a sense of beauty, on the contrary, if you do not understand the love and taboo of some countries, national colors, export goods may have unexpected situations.

Mr. Nishi Tianfeng, executive director of the All-Japan Export Packaging Industry Association, who has been engaged in export packaging business, has written a book titled “The Taboo of Colors in Various Countries” based on his many years of experience. Here, he extracts some references for packaging designers.

Color taboos in some Asian countries

Indian red indicates vitality, activity and fanaticism. Green means truth, and it means that the pursuit of knowledge also means peace and hope. Yellow represents the color of the sun and represents gorgeous and brilliant. Purple is a color that calms people, but it also reminds people of sorrow. The taboo is the brown tung tree and the rooster who reported it.

According to their habits, the traditional "weekdays" are still popular today: Sunday - Red; Monday - Yellow; Tuesday - Pink; Wednesday - Green; Thursday - Orange; Friday - Light Blue Saturday - light purple.

Islamic countries and Israel

In the Middle Ages, the Jewish people living in various countries of the world were forced to wear yellow clothes. After Hitler came to power, the Jews were enslaved by fascism, and they were forced to wear yellow clothes again. Therefore, yellow is seen as an auspicious symbol in Israel and hated by the people. In Judaism, the sacred colors are red, blue, purple, and white. For Christianity, green is deeper than blue. In the Hebrew and Christian traditions, color symbolism has still been praised. Blue mainly represents the color of God (the ruler of all things). Green represents faith, eternal life, meditation. The green used at Easter symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus, and the light green symbolizes baptism.
Pakistanis in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan generally prefer solid colors. The emerald green of the flag is the most popular universal color. Yellow is particularly unpopular due to religion and prejudice.

The Turkish Republic generally prefers solid colors, especially for the crimson and white industries.
For political reasons, the Federal Republic of Germany is uniquely biased against the next few colors. For example, brown, black, dark blue shirts and red ties are particularly annoying. Most people prefer solid colors, especially southerners prefer solid colors to northerners.
Holland likes orange and blue, especially orange, and is widely used in people's festivals.
France is very disgusted with green cloth because it makes people think of the old German army uniforms. In France, men have a habit of wearing blue clothes and women wearing pink clothes. The opposite is true in eastern France.
The green color of Ireland's traditional Dutch Milk Vetch (Irish National Flower) is the favorite color of people. In general, intense colors are more popular than intermediate colors. As a prejudice in color, they hate the orange color that represents Alsace and the Protestant church.
