Japan develops new functional paper for food packaging

The first type is a paper that absorbs water. Its greatest feature is its strong ability to absorb water. It can hold 10 times the weight of the material and is safe and harmless. The second is food packaging material paper, which has the characteristics of heat sealability, air permeability, oil resistance, good water resistance, etc. Its ventilation can be controlled according to user requirements. The food packaged with the air-permeable paper can be heated by microwaves, and therefore it can be used as a microwave-heated frozen food outer packaging material, which has been used for packaging hamburgers.

The third type is water resistant paper, which is characterized by its good water resistance and air permeability. Since it has no water repellency, its soaking rate is higher than that of other materials, its surface strength and interlayer strength are high, it has antibacterial properties, and it can absorb ammonia. This feature is not obtained by adding chemicals, but depends on the raw material of the pulp, so it is safe and reliable. Water-resistant paper can be applied to food packaging materials, condensation water-absorbing film and other fields. If it is compounded with other materials, it can be used as a packaging paper for multi-moisture semi-finished foods, so as to fully exert its advantages of mildew proof, water absorption and water resistance.
