ROTOMEC recently introduced a new type of gravure printing machine

ROTOMEC has recently introduced a versatile press for soft material printing - the RS 4003 MP. At the ROTOMEC Technical Center adjacent to the ROTOMEC San Giorgio Monferrato plant, a new machine was exhibited for a period of 3 days.

In terms of gravure performance and profitability, the RS 4003 MP is exemplary. This machine achieves high performance, low cost, meets the requirements of the market, and is suitable for medium and mass production of high quality printed flexible packaging.

The RS 4003 MP demonstrated its superior performance, technology and superior print quality to packaging and printing experts from 16 countries around the world in a three-day trial run.

The RS 4003 MP is a trolley-type printing roller: The printing unit is equipped with a functional and engineering design that makes it very convenient to change the cart. The configuration design of the entire machine also facilitates the operation procedure: two workers who are responsible for all the printing operation operations only need to complete the corresponding preparation work and change the single operation.

Like all ROTOMEC gravure presses, the RS 4003 MP models have a certified ROTOMEC Electrical Linkage (ES) system, while the High Dynamic Interface (HDI) also incorporates the BOBST S 5100 Register Control System. The system was recently developed and completed by ROTOMEC, which achieved a breakthrough in the reduction of waste and profits of gravure printing machines. The combination of register and print control is achieved at a speed of 12 megabytes per second through the communication interface, which can increase the speed of register alignment by a factor of five, especially during machine acceleration and deceleration. Its automatic pre-register setting (TAPS) uses independent register marks and workflow re-call devices, which greatly improves the efficiency of preparation.

The RS 4003 MP is primarily intended for flexible packaging printing but can also be used for other applications such as linkage compounding and coating. Based on specific production requirements, the machine offers the most suitable single or double dryer and different thermal oil, steam and gas heating systems. The flip-type opening/closing design of the dryer facilitates the operator's penetration and cleaning of the rollers and nozzles.

This model can meet customer expectations very well: All orders received by Open House were confirmed during this exhibition. Several machines have been sold in the United States, China and South America.

The RS 4003 MP has a width range of 850 - 1250 - 1500 mm, a print roller circumference of 400-920 mm and a speed of 350 m/min.
