ToyRat Imagery, a packaging design company based in Sonoma County, Calif., recently established an aluminium bottle consortium. It is expected that in the near future, a brand new wine packaging concept, aluminum wine bottles, will be introduced to the market.
Aluminum has always been considered as a low-grade packaging material, but aluminum packaging is popular in the beer industry, and product image has also changed in recent years. However, so far no wine bottle made of aluminum has appeared in the world. A chief officer at ToyRat Imagery believes that their aluminum wine bottles will certainly make a big splash in the wine industry.
According to experts, new aluminum manufacturing technology has made aluminum almost any size and shape. The texture of the future aluminum wine bottle will not be as light and thin as many soda cans. It is a high-grade product that can replace alternative packaging such as plastics, paper boxes and the like. Of course, compared with glass bottles, the biggest benefit of aluminum bottles is that they are not easily broken.
The company is currently working with various experts to develop standard bottle-shaped and sized aluminum wine bottles.
