The future of self-heating container market

The world's leading self-heating container technology

Editor's note: You can imagine what kind of mood you feel when you open a hot pot of coffee on the way in the cold winter.

Sometimes I think that when you grow in a certain industry, it can cultivate a sense of your sixth. A few months ago, I was thinking about the advantages that were not designed for consumers from refrigeration packaging containers. Obviously, these containers must use plastic materials rather than metals.

Not long ago, I once mentioned indirectly self-heating containers that could not meet consumer needs for one reason or another. A recent example is the rapid disappearance of self-heating cans designed by Nestlé in the UK for Nestlé Coffee. However, it was already a long time ago, and it can be seen that many companies are not optimistic about self-heating technology.

So you can imagine how excited I was when I found an old friend's letter in the mailbox this month. He is Jim Berntsen; working for OnTech. With the recent OnTech and packaging product manufacturer Sonoco signing a production agreement, later this year, Ontech will launch the self-heating technology into the North American market.

Since the early 1990s, Jim has worked in the exciting field of packaging technology. During a visit to Japan, they discovered the market potential of self-heating technology.

This technology can be said to be on the right time, and consumers increasingly need products that can be eaten on the go. On the way, when your fingers are trembling with cold shaking, nothing is better than a soup or coffee that has been heated in a self-heating container with good insulation properties.

The beauty of this plastic-based technology is that the container's design, shape, and its load and size can all be used to enhance brand value.

In addition to a strategic agreement with Sonoco, Ontech has also signed three sales contracts with American Consumer Products. These three sales contracts amount to more than 20 million self-heating containers.

As long as one imagines people enjoying the scene of adding heated drinks or foods in plastic containers, one can understand how self-heating concepts fit today's consumers. I can imagine: In the cold winter, when you open a hot pot of coffee, and I was sitting in the old car driving for a few hours, hoping to find a service point of sight.
