It has also completed the "8th Five-Year" key enterprise technology research project "Research and Development of Large Complex Die-casting Dies" and Guangzhou. The key scientific and technological projects of the city, such as research and development projects for the application of computer-aided mold design, manufacturing, and analysis, have led to Pro/ENGINEER software for the second time. The software has been used to develop motorcycle engines, gearboxes, and automobile clutch housings. Large-scale complex die-casting molds such as home appliances have completed the three-dimensional modeling, mold design, and numerical control programming of more than one hundred molds, and have achieved great economic benefits.
The following describes our experience with Pro/ENGINEER software for die casting mold design and manufacturing.
Integration of Pro/ENGINEER Software Manufacturing Technology The key to the integration of mold CAD/CAE/CAM systems is to establish a single graphics database, and to automatically transfer and convert data between CAD, CAE, and CAM units, so that the CAM and CAE phases are completely completed. It is monolithic production, the manufacturing process is complex, and the delivery time is short. If the use of CAD, CAM unit technology to manufacture molds, low manufacturing accuracy, long cycle, in order to solve the above problems, we will introduce parallel engineering technology into the mold manufacturing process.
The so-called concurrent engineering is a factor that the design engineer considers the molding process of the mold and influences the life of the mold when designing the three-dimensional parts of the product, and carries out proofreading and inspection to find out the design process mistake in advance. After the preliminary establishment of the three-dimensional model of the product, several engineers in the design, manufacturing, and auxiliary analysis departments simultaneously performed the mold structure design, engineering detailed design, mold performance-aided analysis, and programming of CNC machining instruction, and each engineer worked on the product. Changes made can be automatically reflected to other engineers, greatly reducing the time for design and numerical control programming.
In the actual production process, using Pro/ENGINEER software, we will design the original mold structure → mold cavity, two-dimensional core design → process preparation → mold cavity, core design three-dimensional modeling → CNC machining instruction programming → NC machining The serial process route was changed to parallel routes designed by different engineers at the same time, and the process preparations not only improved the manufacturing precision of the mold, but also shortened the design and CNC programming time by more than 40%.
The key to the implementation of concurrent engineering is to realize the sharing of three-dimensional graphic data of parts, so that the graphic data used by each engineer is absolutely the same, and the modifications made by each engineer are automatically reflected to other relevant engineers, ensuring the uniqueness and reliability of the data.
