Thermoforming Packaging Technology (2)

Fourth, the choice of blister packaging machine Blister packaging according to the degree of automation, molding methods, sealing methods, etc., can be divided into a variety of models. Therefore, to select the appropriate model, it is necessary to first understand the difference between the main working device of the blister packaging machine and its adaptability to the process.
1. The heating portion selects the heating portion by heating the plastic film with a certain heating device so as to achieve the hot melt-softening state required for the molding process. According to different heat sources, commonly used heating methods are hot air flow heating and heat radiation heating. The heating system of hot gas flow is directly sprayed onto the surface of the material to be heated by high temperature hot gas flow. In this way, the heating efficiency is not high enough and not uniform enough; the heat radiation heating uses the radiant heat generated by the heater to heat the material, and the radiant energy comes from the spectrum. Infrared electromagnetic waves and plastic materials have a strong absorption effect on some wavelengths of far-infrared wavelengths, and the heating efficiency is high. Therefore, far-infrared heating devices are mostly used for thermoforming packaging machines. If divided according to the way of the heater and the material, the heating part has two methods: direct heating and indirect heating. The direct heating is to make the sheet and the heater contact and heat, the heating speed is fast, but not uniform, only suitable for heating thin materials Indirect heating is the use of radiant heat, close to the sheet heating, heating thorough and uniform, but the slower speed, apply to thick and thin materials.
2. The molding part can be divided into two methods: compression molding and plastic molding. Compression molding is the use of compressed air or mechanical way to soften the sheet pressed into the mold and formed using flat-type, usually intermittent delivery, can also be used for continuous delivery, molding quality, and the depth of the blister cavity can adapt; Vacuum forming is vacuum forming. It uses a vacuum method to form a softened sheet that is tightly attached to a mold. It is often used in a continuous roll type because of the limited suction generated by the vacuum, and the blister is removed from the roll after molding. The angle is limited, so it is only suitable for shallow blisters and thinner materials.
3. There are two types of flat seals and drums in the sealing and sealing section. The flat type is used for intermittent delivery and the drum type is used for continuous delivery.
4. The degree of automation of machinery is selected according to the degree of automation: there are three types of semi-automated, automated single-machine fully automated production lines.
(1) Semi-automated packaging machine - mostly horizontal intermittent operation, manual filling, lower productivity, used to package single, granular and other commodities. Changing varieties, changing molds quickly, suitable for multi-variety small batch production.
(2) Automated stand-alone - also horizontal-based, intermittent and continuous operation, medium productivity, a certain degree of versatility. Not only suitable for a variety of small batch production, but also for a single batch production.
(3) Full-automatic packaging production line - both horizontal and vertical, mainly for the packaging of drugs (pills, capsules and suppositories, etc.). Foreignly known as PTP (Press Through Pack) packaging, domestic translated into a press-through packaging. PTP uses a multi-column structure with high productivity, from 1000 to 5000 tablets/min, and up to 9,000 tablets/min in the latest models. PTP packaging quality is good, there are detection devices and reject machine, and can be printed, distributed and folded instructions and packaging are connected to the production line PTP is a full-featured pharmaceutical packaging, representative of the packaging line.
Figure 11-3 shows a schematic diagram of a continuous drum type PTP automatic packaging line. This production line uses indirect heating, roller type molding, drum type heat sealing, continuous transfer.

Figure 11-4 shows a schematic diagram of an intermittent flat PTP automatic packaging line. This production line uses indirect heating, flat forming, drum type heat sealing, and intermittent delivery.
