Container processing and design

Processing of paper containers

The paper container is a paperboard container used for packaging goods, such as a paper box, a grade cup, and the like. The quality of evaluation-grade containers not only evaluates the quality of printing, but also evaluates the styling and processing of containers.

The paper container manufacturing process is: plate making, printing, surface processing, die cutting, indentation, and box making.

1. Material

It is generally made of inexpensive materials that are suitable for the packaged goods, yellow plate paper, kraft paper, paperboard, white paper, etc. are used as the printing materials, and the requirements are high. It is possible to paste copper wires on these materials. Paper, printing inks should also be selected according to the packaging of light-resistant, wear-resistant, oil-resistant, drug-resistant, non-toxic ink.

2. Plate making and printing

Use letterpress, lithography, photogravure, flexo printing. Now mainly lithography, letterpress printing can be printed with good results, bright colors, shiny products, but the plate making process is complicated, not as simple as lithographic printing. Spray dust during printing to prevent dirt on the back.

3. Surface processing

According to needs, it can be coated with polyethylene, paste surface film, wax coating, foil pressing, embossing and other processes, but not all products must be surface-processed.

4. Die cutting, creasing

(1) Die-cutting plate making

A preferred method of platemaking a die cut is to use a plywood to make a die cut sheet. First transfer the level box pattern to the plywood, use a wire saw to cut along the tangent line and the fold line, then insert the die-cutting and crease knife line into the plywood to make a die-cutting plate, which has the advantages of lightness, accurate dimensions, and preservation. advantage.

Also useful for computer control, laser cutting and cutting, inputting the size, shape and weight of the paper box into the computer, and then controlling the movement of the laser by the computer, engraving the entire tangent fold line of the carton on the plywood, and finally inserting the knife. line.

The process flow is: drawing a box sample image → drawing an imposition plan → copying the imposition design diagram → transferring the imposition design diagram onto the plywood → drilling and kerfing → inserting a rule → making a die-cut version of the negative template.

1 drawing carton sample

Draw a black-and-white draft knife diagram of the paper box, which has a precise size of the box and requires the line to be very accurate, as shown in Figure 8-31.

2 draw imposition plan

According to the carton carton pattern and the maximum printable paper size, imposition design, imposition design to consider saving paper and easy removal of waste edge after die-cutting. Draw the imposition plan by imposition design.

3 copy the imposition plan

Duplicate two imposition plans, one for printing plates and one for die-cut plates, to ensure consistency and precise registration during die-cutting.

4 Imposition plans transferred to plywood can be hand-painted or photocopying. Manual depictions must be highly accurate.

5 Drilling and sawing

There is a special sawing machine, which is a wire saw moving up and down. In two cartridges
Drill holes at the joints to facilitate threading saws, sawing along tangents and fold lines. The thickness of the wire saw should be compatible with the thickness of the die cutter wire and the crease knife wire.
