Therefore, a good fountain solution contains a chemical called wetting agent to reduce the amount of water on the plate, so that the water spreads on the plate into a thin film of water. The buffer in the fountain solution helps to maintain a stable pH, allowing the colloid to adhere to the plate better under acidic conditions. In addition, because the fountain liquid is continuously agitated by the mechanical circulation pump and the filter, it is necessary to take measures to control the generation of foam in the wetting system.

Speedmaster recommends using conductivity to control the amount of fountain solution. Too little usage will prevent the printer from experiencing all the advantages of high quality products. However, excessive use of the fountain solution may result in uneconomical use of the fountain solution.
To maintain the best quality efficiency and condition of the printer, it is necessary to have a daily maintenance program. The maintenance includes the maintenance of the printing machine parts; the ink roller blanket does not have any crystallization from the mirror; the surface does not have the resin in the ink; there is no colloidal salt substance in the fountain solution; there is no paper powder, paper hair and dusting.

To remove all deposits, including paper powder, paper dust, dusting, colloids and salts, one of the most important cleaning agents is water. Because the solvent cannot remove the above deposits, these deposits form chemical crystallization after a long period of deposition.

Therefore, for effective cleaning, water and solvents must be mixed in the cleaning process. Speedmaster WH11 and WH12 are cleaning pens that are easy to mix with water slicks. They don't contain water, but they contain special chemicals. After adding water, they form emulsions. This is the ideal mixture to remove all the ink roller and blanket deposition at the same time. The cleaned surface is a matt, non-tacky, ideal transfer surface.
