It is understood that Barrett's new bare-ink inkjet CTP technology has applied for patents and obtained approvals on several technical cores such as ink, plate-based processing, printer control systems, and ink drop prevention. "Now, we use modified printers to use our own developed ink to print printed dots directly on the processed bare print; after curing by baking, we use thermal cross-linking reactions to make the graphic information insoluble at the same time. , with lipophilic properties, to meet the requirements of printing on the machine."
According to general manager Shi Shenquan, the concept of inkjet CTP technology is not a completely innovative concept. As early as in the late 1990s, at the beginning of the CTP technology, domestic people had proposed the concept of using inkjet technology to achieve direct plate-making, and Pratt is also one of the earliest practitioners of inkjet CTP technology. However, the initial inkjet CTP technology uses inkjet printers to spray the graphic images that need to be printed onto the traditional PS plate, and then perform exposure and development processing. However, due to the impact of the accuracy of the printer at the time, and this generation of inkjet CTP from the process step is not much simplified, so its promotion effect is not ideal.
“Our ink-jet CTP technology was discontinued because the promotion was not ideal. But I always thought that this was a direction, so although production was discontinued, our research work continued. Later, our researchers developed A kind of cured water-soluble resin that is lipophilic, this result has made our inkjet CTP a turning point, which is the bare inkjet CTP technology we have now introduced.” Shi Shenquan, general manager of the introduction.
At Pratt's booth, General Manager Shi Shenquan personally demonstrated the entire process of bare-plate inkjet CTP technology: a roughened and oxidized aluminum plate base, which is directly inserted into the printer and equipped with the printer.
