Imposition work in digital production process

Imposition is the work of combining the individual pages produced before the press in accordance with the requirements of the printing press and finished product folding. It involves the entire production process from typesetting, plate making, printing to postpress processing. Before the imposition process did not occur, the traditional way of imposition was manual imposition and the use of groupware software to make a hand.

The specific approach of hand-layout is to manually output the single-page document film, and then make a large version of the plate-making. The folding work is mostly done by manual operation, so there is misalignment and production efficiency. Low, workers labor intensity and other shortcomings. The specific method of using the groupware software to make folds is to create a large layout file after creating a single page file, then copy the contents of the single page file to the large version file, and output the PS file after rotation positioning. Similar to the traditional manual layout, the groupware software is simply to manually transfer the film's layout to the front-end computer without any substantial change. Digital make-up operations are an important part of the digital production process, which can simplify the process, reduce the waste of raw materials, improve the reliability and consistency of the product. Currently, the common imposition process in the market can be divided into two types, namely, the RIP pre-imposition (such as the Ultimate Imposition) and the RIP post-imposition (such as Jin Hao's imposition process) according to the different imposition data.
