(b) Experimental methods
1. Design the experiment guide.
In order to match the transfer function's correction function, the guide used in this experiment has a total of 12 series of dots, respectively 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80% , 90%, 95%, 100%, a total of four, respectively C, M, Y, K, so the guide total of 48 color blocks. In CMYK mode under PhotoShop, all settings of RGB Setup and CMYK Setup return to the default value of PhotoShop.
2. Output the experiment guide without adjusting Transfer Function.
3. Calibrate the concentration meter.
4. Measure the density value of each color block on the experiment guide sheet. In the same color block, measure the number of times, and calculate the average value.
5. Calculate network value and dot gain value.
6. Draw dot gain curves and concentration curves.
7. Calculate the numerical value after each dot revision correction. The goal of the experiment is to control the dot gain within 5%, so if the dot gain is within 5%, it will not be corrected; if the calculated value is less than 0, the correction should be 5%.
8. In Transfer Function, enter the corrected dot value and output the experiment guide.
9. Measure the concentration value of each color block on the experiment guide. Within the same color block, measure the number of times, and calculate the average value.
10. Calculate network value and dot gain value.
11. Draw dot gain curves and concentration curves.
12. Compare the change in tone (density) after correcting the dot value.
